I wanted to like it, but I darn near choked on all the the goodness and perfection in this book. To start with we have to meet every last person in town. So the actual main characters have squeeze in n around everyone's perfect, wonderful lives. Everyone made a love match, everyone's wife is the most beautiful, the husband most handsome and fit. Children are adorable with lisps and freckles. No one in this book is real. I had trouble liking Maddie who danced in garden's while her mother who scrubbed floors fill her a hot tub (from buckets and Woodstock's!) and "hobbled to bed" with out a bath. There were so many beautiful, chortling couples in love I lost track and interest. I think the author created a happy little paradise of unbelievable characters. Maybe you like that. If you don't, the best mail order I ever read was Rose in the Seven Brides series. I wavered between one and two stars, felt like kicking a puppy to go one star. I was enticed from the first chapter to keep on reading until the end. The mote I read, the better the story. GREAT characters and a sweet love story. Excellent read.
Who can be sure where we will end up in life. It may not be where we want but we make the most of it anyway. Madeline is a very strong willed woman and I loved her honesty and sincerity.
The birthday party was a surprise and she knew she was loved until Hannah's mother busted in. She gave Madeline 2 weeks to leave the home she had lived in. The only thing that could work was become a mail order bride. Will it work? Read this one.
Very interesting good plot,. I had one part I questioned, what did Junior and Stella have to do with the story? I had to go back and find the other chapter where they were introduced? I liked it was clean but I didn't like the drinking although it sure showed the mess it caused twice.
A wonderful and entertaining love story. The spicefulness came from an unexpected source. My mouth dropped to the floor. I so much enjoyed reading this book. A lot to learn about love. It is a process that takes time and faith. I found so much laughter in this story. It is incredibly sweet. Well written!
She can't handle her mother's cold hearted attitude towards her & others. She answers an ad as a mail order bride. He gets drunk & starts writing an ad, but passes out. Somehow the ad is published & he's shocked to find out his beauty is here to marry him. Will they fall in love? Sweet clean wholesome romance
I did not enjoy reading about the fighting amongst the brothers in their opening scene. And the family dinner scene later was embarrassing to read. Yes, that’s the story, I just didn’t enjoy it. The heroine Madeline as really cute and sweet and brave. The author went deep into detail about characters that didn’t matter by the end of the book, and it was over halfway through the story before they met for the first time. Clean story thought with a light hearted atmosphere.
